The Playgroup have been having a wonderful time with their ‘senses’ and discovering lots of new topics. They recent had a trip to the Post Office in the Village, where they discovered a range of objects on their walk from bulbs growing up through the soil, to the sounds of a digger and cars passing by. They particularly enjoyed buying packets of crisps from the Post Office and bringing them back to the Village Hall to see how they tasted and what they looked like!
Many thanks to all of you who donated your Tesco Vouchers, we collected 1072 vouchers and have ordered a BIG SPINNING TOP for the children to enjoy.
Our new member of the team, Jude Coleman is settling in well and the children love having her around, she is doing a fantastic job.
Please look out for our future events which we will be holding from a Film Night to a possible Salsa Evening and even possibly an Irish Night!

The Playgroup this month will be embarking on the discovery of ‘senses’ and are all very much looking forward to what they might discover. We have also been very busy with our other topics recently such as taste, which the children really enjoyed.
We are also pleased to announce the arrival of a new team member, Jude, who has joined the team and is assisting Sue with running the Playgroup. Jude brings to the team knowledge in childcare through her roles as an afterschool club carer and in addition has previously held a position in the police force. We wish her all the best.

Autumn 2007
Autumn is a time of new beginnings for so many children, and playgroup is no different. We have started the new school year very well; numbers are buoyant and everyone is working at full stretch. Sue and Esther are very busy with this term’s topics: settling in, about me, clothes & dressing up, our family, leaves, animals and Autumn colours.
You may have seen our appeal for helpers. We are asking for volunteers to help for just ONE HOUR PER DAY. Duties would be mainly helping in the kitchen at break time by preparing the snacks and drinks and then clearing up afterwards, but if you were prepared to help elsewhere this would be great. Ideally we would ask for a regular commitment, although this could be for as little as one session per week (whatever time you have to give). We have a few fund raisers planned, a cake stall in the near future and another film night in the New Year. Our next big fund raiser will be a CHRISTMAS FAYRE on 24th November. We are planning a very festive continental market with many stalls selling a range of gifts, foods, decorations, cards and stationery. Live music and refreshments will provide a seasonal atmosphere where you can enjoy the ambience and start your Christmas in style.
