What happened when the snowgirl fell out with the snowboy?
She gave him the cold shoulder!

What do snowmen wear on their heads?
Ice caps!

What's an ig?
An eskimo's home without a loo!

What do snowmen eat for lunch?
Icebergers!

Where do snowmen go to dance?
Snowballs!

How do snowmen travel around ?
By iceicle !

What sort of ball doesn't bounce ?
A snowball !

How do you know when there is a snowman in your bed ?
You wake up wet !

What do you get if cross a snowman and a shark ?
Frost bite !

How do you call an Eskimo cow ?
An Eskimoo !

What about Snow fenceing, every year the council would come round and put Chestnut fenceing up in fields about twenty yards from the road so that when the wind started blowing and picking snow up off the fields it made drifts between the fence and the road so that it didn't drift in the roads but most years it still filled park hall lane.
When I say council I meen the council roadmen , snow fencing and local roadmen are both long gone.

Another thing I remember was the look on peoples faces when we rolled up at their houses and farms with a JCB, they had seen RB draglines and Caterpillers in the quarrys but these wheeled diggers on the road were a compleatly new thing to most of them in those days. A bit different than today when you almost fall over them all over the world.

Well you must remember /62/63 winter , I had just left school and started working in the building trade and laid off but the firm I worked for (Wilcox of Tean) had some of the first JCB's and we were shifting snow for weeks. We started off by digging out parkhall lane to get down to Tean
then we went up around Ipstones and Cauldon Low and that area. Some days we would open a road but by dinner time we had to turn round and dig ourselves out again.
Great times. I shall always remember the old guys we were working with up there ,at dinner time they used to light a fire in an oil drum and cook bacon on their shovels.
